As part of the CRA's continuing Commercial Corridor Improvement Program, trees have been planted along NE 125th Street and West Dixie Highway corridors, and the City has greatly improved the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Plaza in the heart of downtown North Miami. Mom and Pop Small Business Grants Update
Attention business owners! Grants are available for your business. Commissioners have each made $150,000 available through the Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program for FY 2006-2007 to be distributed to qualified small businesses located in their respective Miami-Dade County Districts.

District 3

The Blitz: Giving Small Business the Power to Make Just About any Place a Workplace

The topic is on mobile technology for small business. There will be displays of new products/technologies including broadband, GPS, voice services, etc. And Sprint will raffle off top prizes including phones, PDAs, laptops and some Super Bowl-related merchandise -- including tickets to the game!  To participate, registrants must be registerd on line and present. Also, the NFL is hosting a special breakfast for small businesses on 2/1 - this is a free event, but participants must RSVP.

Outreach

RadioAs part of the CRA's effort to inform the public about the City Charter changes on the November 7 ballot, the Executive Director appeared on the Ed Loz Morning Show. Mr. Crapp gave an overview of the CRA, and how the charter changes can affect the CRA's ability to provide affordable housing. Listen to the program (wma file). Meeting of Commercial Grant Review Panel

This is a meeting of a panel that will review commercial grant applications and make recommendations to the CRA Advisory Committee and CRA Board. It will be held at the CRA Offices on December 21 at noon. [Details]

This is a mandatory meeting for all those that applied for the Commercial Grant Programs of the CRA. It will be held at the Council Chambers on December 19 at 5:30 pm. [Details]

RFP for Letter of Credit

The CRA is seeking proposals from qualified financial institutions that can provide the CRA with a Line of Credit for at least $10,758,300 at the lowest overall borrowing cost pursuant to the specifications, terms and conditions of the RFP.
