The CRA's Award of Affordable Housing Program Subsidies has Begun!

The North Miami CRA, in partnership with the Housing partnership of North Miami, has begun working with the first group of families in North Miami to assist them with first time home buyer assistance and single family home rehabilitation assistance in the amount of up to $50,000 each. The first 14 people on the first time home buyer waiting list have either begun searching for a home to purchase, or have already signed a contract and are awaiting mortgage approval, 2 of these families are to be given subsidies to purchase units at the new Whitehouse Condominium project. The CRA has also identified an additional 10 families from the single family home rehabilitation waiting list to assist with rehabilitating their homes.

On Tuesday, December 11th, 2007, some of these families came to the CRA Board meeting to be introduced to the Honorable Mayor and City council in their capacity as the CRA Board of Commissioners:
